Using a cup of muddy brown water I poured it through the water filter and let it set for about 30 minutes and after waiting, you could start seeing drops of clear water coming from the bottleneck of the water filter and continued to pour clear water into the empty cup until it was completely done filtering.
In conclusion, we were able to create a low-tech version of a very sophisticated model of water filtration system that is used and needed all around the world with materials from nature and a couple items from the pet store (Sand $15 Charcoal $5). Although the water has now been filtered to a clear water it is still not 100% clean to drink as there is still bacteria that must be removed from the water which can be done through boiling the water.
